This story began with a dream

Sergiy Klimov is a Ukrainian wine ambassador who has been promoting local wines since 2014.
He has always wondered why Kyivans don't notice how many neighborhood buildings covered with vines. And what if someone could harvest all those grapes and make some wine.

This idea was a spark that burned within him for many years, until the great war has started. In 2023, he realized if it's not the time then when. And moreover, these special bottles of wine could become a good charity lot considering nowadays Ukrainian volunteer movement context.
The Big
Harvest Day
Sergiy went to his favorite restaurant "Dubler" and by a happy coincidence the restaurant building is surrounded by vines on all sides. He talked to the owner and managing partner, got their approval, and wrote a post on social media about his idea with a date when he would be ready to pick up all the grapes that people would gather from the vines in Kyiv and bring them to him.

17 people and 3 restaurants agreed to collect neighbor vines and therefore 8 varieties of grapes were harvested.
Sergiy believes that the tradition of picking grapes on the streets can become one of the new Kyiv local holidays and perhaps in a couple of years this idea will spread among all Ukrainian cities.
200+ kg
were harvested

While being a founder of the Kyiv Food and Wine Festival Sergiy got known all the Ukrainian winemakers.
He has chosen Cassia Winery for the “Kyiv Streets Wine” production.
